5.2.12 - Shell Driveway

They poured a concrete base on Monday and added "Florida White" compound, threw in shells and sharks teeth (!) and then cut the joints, rolled and hosed it down for a beautiful shell finish. It needs to cure for a week and then it'll be sealed. We start to unpack the boxes and crates and put things away.

4.30.12 - Moving to the Island

Monday was a very long day but professional movers Don, Bob, Brian and Butch made it go as quickly as possible. Moved the Camino Real house in 4 hours and unloaded at the Lido Shores home in 3. Chris Carlson moved another truck load of orchids and bromeliads. Had a celebratory "welcome to the island" glass of wine at Dan, Tom and Tim's before crashing at midnight. Get to do it again on Friday when they move the storage room boxes. Florida Power and Light dropped the ball and has delayed connecting our power. Thankfully friends Keith and Mary are letting us stay in their beautiful St. Armands home until we get our certificate of occupancy. Tuesday the wireless network was hooked up by Comcast and we started unpacking our treasures. On Wednesday the driveway gets an embedded shell topping and the pool gets "shot" with a pebble tech surface. It's getting done.
