Bye Bye 2011 & Welcome 2012

On New Years Eve we spent a beautiful day having breakfast at C'est La Vie, walking Lido beach, sipping champagne and playing with Alice. New Years Day we enjoyed Dan, Tom and Tim's traditional and festive pork and sauerkraut dinner with 20 good friends. Can't wait to move in early 2012. Bonne Année!

11.18.11 - Tour and Tiles

Our architect, Jonathan Parks, led a tour of 20 people through the house on Friday. Tileman Ray had the day off. Elliott and Janet weeded the lanai planters and swept up the pool area.

9.10.11 - Morning Yoga Class

At 9am Wendy and I took a Hatha yoga class with 200 other men and women. Our mats were lined up overlooking the sparkling Sarasota bay on the marble terrace of Ca d'Zan, the home of Mable and John Ringling. There was a brilliant blue, cloudless sky and a light breeze as we did our downward dog, mountain, cobra and warrior poses. Afterwards, feeling stretched, serene and reinvigorated, we sipped latte's in the cafe. A brilliant start to a brilliant day.

9.1.11 - Happy September!

Activity is good: Mike the painter has been working early every day this week, making progress before the usual afternoon rain shower. The guys from Solar Source discussed with Elliott how they'll adhere the mats to the roof — as soon as the roof is finished which will happen when the stucco is done. Parrish Drilling stopped by to see how they'll fit (more like squeeze) their equipment into the back yard when they drill our well next Tuesday. Don the carpenter will be framing and squaring up closets and doors today, getting ready for the dry wall installation.

Below, a few photos from hither and yon.
