Hot and steamy August has brought daily, intense afternoon showers and a warm Gulf temperature of 87 degrees. House-wise, Mr. Marcite prepared the front door pool base for a future deck made of Epe wood. The painters, Mike and Gen, have started priming and touching-up the walls and will begin the final coats of paint next week. Then the staircase will be clad in white maple. Two more bar stools are set to arrive any day now and an outdoor wall or two will get splashes of color.
Paris friends Robert and Ludo visited and were able to check-off everything on their Florida bucket list. They spotted manatees, dolphins and alligators in the wild; kayaked through the mangroves and saw ospreys, cormorants, pelicans, herons and egrets up close and personal; and never ceased to delight in watching the anoles (little lizards) dart about, climb walls and puff out their dewlaps (necks).
After test-driving cars in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota, Elliott finally fell in love with a gray 2008 Honda S 2000 Roadster convertible with only 34,000 miles. The super sweet ride has put a permanent smile on E's face.
